High Desert Museum Summer Camp 2010
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be an artist, archaeologist, naturalist, or animal keeper? Children ages five through nine can find out at our cool Summer Camps, and now is the time to reserve a spot.
Campers can choose from weekly themes such as fun with
archaeology, uncovering cool artifact replicas from a frontier
town at an outdoor simulated dig pit. They’ll use real
archeological tools and methods.
Or, they can go behind the scenes at our wildlife habitat
exhibits and learn how to prepare food for animals as well as
create playful activities that keep the animals healthy and
happy.
Wildlife storytelling sessions and adventure walks through the
Museum’s forest will inspire campers to learn about
animal and plant habitats. Or, children may explore the stories
of High Desert culture and history, examining artifacts in our
exhibits, including the 1880 High Desert Homestead ranch and
cabin.
An art-themed week will allow campers to create art works
through a range of activities.
