10:00 am Nature Walks: Discover the flora and fauna of the High Desert! Join a High Desert Museum Naturalist for a short, informative walk along the Museum’s nature trails

& 3pm Raptor Encounters:
Meet magnificent raptors close-up and learn about them from the
wildlife staff.
2:00 pm Otter Talk: See the amazing world of the river otter. Get a chance to touch furs, skulls, and meet the Museum's river otter, Thomas.
11:00 am & 1:00pm Desert Dwellers: Meet live animals and learn about their behavior in one of four fun, educational, interactive programs:
High Desert Habitats, Feeding
and Breeding, Don't Pick It Up, or Training 101
2:30pm Spirit of the West Exhibit
Tours: Journey with a guide -from a Northern
Paiute rock shelter, through a mining operation, and an
authentic, re-created 1885 settlement town.
Throughout the day: Living History Encounters: In the main hall stop by our "Pioneer Porch" and visit with artists dedicated to demonstrating the arts and crafts of the late 19th century. Learn the history of quilting or hooked rugs as an art form, with both beauty and function for the frontier home. Or visit with the Blair family, settlers of the High Desert, out at the Homestead as they go about their daily chores. 11am - 4pm
Weekly Programs
2:00 pm Behind-the-Scenes Wildlife Tours: (Weekends) Take a tour led by one of the Museum's wildlife staff and learn about our wildlife and their care. Get up close with the unique program animals and birds not seen every day at the Museum. 2pm - 3pm. Check -in time is 1:30 pm. Tour minimum is 2 people, maximum 10 people. $10 Members. $15 Non-Members. Tour route varies. Call 382-4754 ext 241 to make a reservation or register online here.
