Oregon Encounters: Experience the 1800’s
Date: April 13-17, 2020
Grade: 4th grade
The rich, multicultural history of Oregon in the 1800s comes alive in this program. Learn about the Native Americans who have lived in the landscape for thousands of years and the newcomers who traveled the Oregon Trail in search of new beginnings. Investigate how they helped shape Oregon into what it is today. Stations around the Museum will highlight diverse perspectives through storytelling, hands-on learning and STEM activities.
Each class will attend one day of the festival.
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Cost: $6.50 per student, includes Museum admission
The High Desert Museum is proud of the value Oregon Encounters adds to 4th grade classrooms. To keep the program experience intimate for students the attendance is capped at 250 students daily. To ensure fair and equitable access in this week-long program, a lottery is being implemented for the 2020 Oregon Encounters program, occurring April 13-17, 2020.
Click BOOK NOW and submit the dates for which you would like to enter the lottery. Open registration for all schools will close on October 1, 2019. We will then contact schools about lottery results and establish a wait list. You can contact Erica Pelley with any clarifying questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 541-382-4754 ext. 320.
