DSS Event – Rick Bartow: Animal Kinship Opening

Desert Sage Society Reception – Rick Bartow: Animal Kinship Opening Evening

Please join Executive Director Dana Whitelaw, Ph.D., and the Board of Trustees of the High Desert Museum for an exclusive donor event.

Rick Bartow (Wiyot, d. 2016) is one of Oregon’s most celebrated artists, known for his sculptural and two-dimensional works. Rick Bartow: Animal Kinship, a new exhibition from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, will share nearly two dozen nature-focused artworks spanning the final three decades of Bartow’s career. Drawing from Indigenous stories and his interest in the natural world, Bartow explores themes of resilience, transformation and identity as he processes the most difficult aspects of humanity, including war and trauma.

You are invited to a private reception to preview this new exhibition and interact with Museum curators to learn more about its creation.
