HIGH DESERT PROJECT
Dialogue & Connection around Issues Impacting our Region
Build Connections. Build Community — with the High Desert Museum.
We all want a vibrant future—for our community and for each other. But what does that mean, especially when people have different viewpoints and circumstances? The High Desert Museum invites you to participate in a new project that seeks to create bonds between people who might not always meet to converse around issues that matter. We are inviting you to a series of events that focus on different regional topics. You will be part of a cohort of participants who will actively take part in events that explore each topic and foster dialogue to better understand the range of perspectives around these issues. For a deeper dive on the topics, each cohort will be limited to 8-10 members and will move through the series together.
Connection. Dialogue. Perspective. Understanding. Respect. Community.
Series #1: Nourishing Our Community
Join us in this enlightening journey of the food systems in Central Oregon. Together, we’ll delve deep into the world of food, gaining insights on the diverse viewpoints surrounding this topic. Over four thought-provoking events, we will cover a range of perspectives such as sustainable agriculture, regional systems, and the rich cultural connections we share with what we eat.
Series #2: The Story of Us
Join us for a series on the art of storytelling, exploring the multitude of ways our community tells its stories and the profound impact those narratives have on our collective identity. Over four thought-provoking events, we will cover a wide range of topics from our shared human history, different mediums of storytelling, to how these elements come together to tell the “story of us”.
