Matika Wilbur (Swinomish and Tulalip), an artist and storyteller, has set out to “change the way we see Native America.” She is doing this through Project 562, an impressive undertaking to photograph the over 562 federally recognized tribes in the United States. Alongside portraits of Native people in settings and landscapes that are personally meaningful, Wilbur shares the stories of those she photographs.
