Dialogue Dinner Invitation 2025

Dialogue Dinner

What is the American Dream? A Special Conversation and Collections Experience

You’re invited to join us for our first event of the Dialogue Dinners program, a thought-provoking evening that creates space for open, respectful conversation.

What do we mean when we say, “The American Dream”? Does it mean something different now than 250 years ago? This event invites us to explore how personal experiences, collective memory and history shape our understanding of this evolving ideal.

Together, we’ll go behind the scenes into the High Desert Museum’s collections storage. Using objects, we’ll explore how the American Dream has been imagined, challenged, defended and reshaped over time — and what it might look like in the next 250 years. Afterward, we will come together for a family-style meal and reflect on the activity and the stories shared.

Whether you come with pride, questions, skepticism, or hope, your perspective is welcome here.
