Canceled – Kids Camp Spring Break

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our Kids’ Camp Spring Break sessions March 23-27 in light of the rapidly evolving coronavirus pandemic. We didn’t make this decision lightly — we know how critical these camps are to families. We were excited to welcome your children here.

The Museum is also closing from Tuesday, March 16 through Sunday, March 29. Programs are now canceled through April 11. We will reevaluate the situation as our potential reopening draws near.

In this instance, we’re willing to offer a full refund. Please contact info@highdesertmuseum.org and include the email you used during camp registration if you would like to proceed.

The health of our community is our greatest concern. Thank you for your understanding — we’re grateful that you’re a part of the Museum family, and we hope to see you at the Museum again soon.

Storybooks Come Alive!*
(K — 1st grade)
Let’s travel all around the world this week and explore the people, animals, habitats, languages and cultures all around us. We’ll cultivate a love of learning and reading through art, music, dancing and outside activities, using our stories to jump into adventure!

Trash to Treasures
(2nd — 3rd grade)
Learn about the importance of recycling in this fun camp. Talk about how humans impact the world around us, and what we can do to be responsible. Finally, make art out of recycled materials. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure!

Natural Design
(4th — 5th grade)
Do you love the great outdoors? What about design, photography and creativity? Explore amazing naturally occurring patterns like fractals, determine why eggs are the most perfect shape, create (and photograph!) Andy Goldsworthy-inspired projects outside and more! This camp will include two off-site, half-day field trips. Transportation as well as all materials and cameras provided by the Museum.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you must cancel your registration for any reason, please notify the Museum as soon as possible. If you cancel, more than three weeks out, you will receive a 75% refund. A 50% refund will be given to cancellations made two weeks prior to the first day of camp. Cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the first day of camp will not be refunded. Be aware that refunds will not be given for partial or unattended days.
